About me
Janell realized hospice was her passion in 2011. In a few short years with Sangre de Cristo Community Care, she has gone from IT Technician to EMR System Administrator and now has become the regulatory and compliance expert as the Director of Compliance. Janell supports all 6 agency locations in southern Colorado for Home Health, Hospice, Palliative Care, and GUIDE services. Janell enjoys wearing many hats and is deeply involved in all departments to ensure that each is following the philosophy of working smarter not harder while still maintaining compliance. In November 2018, Janell became one of nation’s the first 200 individuals to complete the NHPCO Hospice Compliance Certificate Program. As Director of Compliance, Janell assists in executing and monitoring new and existing laws, regulations, policies, and industry standards and identifies existing and emerging business practice issues and risks of company. Janell works diligently to ensure that the software is meeting the needs of all departments while providing a compliant electronic medical record that allows staff to provide quality patient care through effective communication. She oversees both the Compliance and Medical Records team as they support the other agency staff to always meet the required regulations while serving the Sangre de Cristo Community Care mission of enhancing the quality of life and maintaining the integrity of patients and their families.
